In this song, Idol sings about enjoying a sexual relationship with a much younger girl. The song title is based on the saying "robbing the cradle."
The music video for the song had to be produced differently because Idol couldn't walk. Billy sang from the chest up on the walls of an apartment as he appeared on enormous screens. In the David Fincher-directed video, the sexy model Betsy Lynn George visits an elderly man's apartment and tells him to "Play this tape" before dancing seductively for him. The plan was successful since the song rose swiftly in the charts and the MTV video received a ton of airplay.
